Hi everyone! Possibly, probably, you've had enough of Blue Pineapples already! This is her photo shoot post; I like to put all the quilt pics online where they have an extra chance to survive computer outages. A record for the future.
Many of you have already kindly commented on this project. I didn't get to answer everyone, yet, because of the not-a-hurricane Henri nonsense. (My poor fridge is bulging still. I am dying for a dinner of peanut butter with tomato, mayo and lettuce sandwiches, a hurricane staple.)
Here is a pretty hurricane candle I made for the storm. "Sea Salt"/ 3 wicks, lots of light.
Blue Pineapples is a simple modern quilt, meant to be a beach blanket or a deck and living room sofas throw. I think right now it is so crisp and white that it will live indoors for a year or two.

The white ground is a pigment white hibiscus tropical design.
The wonderful wild backing! Psychedelic jungle print.

Just for fun, in my friends' lovely yard.
Tossed over a chair, as a throw....

I'm glad to hear that Henri didn't make too much of a mess in your little corner of the world. Your photos of Blue Pineapples are gorgeous! That one is a treasure that deserves a place of honor in your blue and white decor. It looks so soft and cuddly! Never had a sandwich like you described, might have to try one just to say I did, lol!
ReplyDeleteLovely pineapple quilt--and a great pillow to match, too;)))
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful indigo batik prints in this one...
very classy...Looks like Mo wants to cool off...still pretty hot here, too...Stay safe hugs, Julierose
Hi Lizzie, your pineapple quilt is gorgeous! That quilt should be on your sofa to enjoy every day. Take care and a pat on the head for Mo…..he’s so cute!!
ReplyDeleteThank you from both me and Mo!
DeleteI love the Blue Pineapples and hate to think of it outdoors, lol. But use and enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteLOL, your sandwich sounds like SP's peanut butter and olive sandwich - kind of odd! I haven't tried either one of those!
I'm glad you didn't get the main part of the hurricane, that would have been bad. Really glad you didn't have flooding!
Thanks for sharing!
It feels so good to have a finish, doesn't it? The blue pineapples turned out really fine, I love the indigo/white contrast.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, lovely quilt! Your stitching motif is perfect and I love your striped binding. It's got such a serene, beachy feel with the floating blocks. Great job!:)
ReplyDeleteSo happy nothing came of Henri. Now I see Louisiana is the target. Yikes! Great quilt! Kit
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is certainly a beauty queen, Lizzy. When you first showed us the green you were going to use for the leaves I questioned it but it's perfect! I admire people who use white backgrounds. When I'm choosing fabrics I always think white is just too stark, but then I see quilts with white and think they look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteSo glad Henri didn't effect you, but I suppose, after all the preparation, it could be a letdown not to have it happen.
Thankful you and Mo are safe and sound. Blue Pineapples is a stunner. I can imagine it as a throw, a wall hanging or even as a quilt on your bed!
ReplyDeleteI don't think we'll ever tire of seeing BP, wherever and whenever it makes an appearance. I'm glad you showed close-ups. It really is quite special.
ReplyDeleteReally? Peanut butter, tomato, mayo and lettuce??? Why, I never ;)
Mo looking cute as ever!
I love the photo op of Blue Pineapples! It is just perfect in every way!
