The gale winds and frigid temps have come to stay?
Oh, I hope not....It has been too windy to walk on the beach, the blowing sand is downright painful.
Today I had my afternoon walk in the big---huge---supermarket on the mainland instead. I'm not one for big Super Shop'n'Drop kinda stores. I love a small shop, a bakery, the local farmers market; a good butcher, a farmstand, I can even get into BJ's (AKA Costco-esque?) giant warehouse weirdness...but the supermarket it had to be. Sadly my lovely little seaside grocery had only barren shelves, as it too hunkers down for its long winter nap.
I came home with an interestingly wrinkled Savoy cabbage and fresh dill and caraway seeds.
I made old-fashioned cabbage rolls for dinner. I thought the huge pan of roll-ups would last till the weekend! But no! The dish was yummy and fragrant and fairly light. Definitely warm and cozy...
And---all gone.
now what?

.....gone to the beach
PS You can find the recipe here .Note---easier than it looks! Needs a LOT more of the seasonings tho, maybe because I cook w/out salt? Add more black pepper and a litle garlic powder, plus the fresh garlic. Lots more dill and carawat too. (To taste of course.)
