Spring
Just as we lose hope
she ambles in,
a late guest
dragging her hem
of wildflowers
her torn
veil of mist,
of light rain,
blowing
her dandelion breath
in our ears;
and we forgive her,
turning from
chilly winter
ways,
we throw off
our faithful
sweaters
and
open
our arms.

I love this poem, so perfectly descriptive and charming.
One more week til Summer begins on the astronomical calendar. This tiny quilt was a spring challenge, a freebie from TQC. HERE [March 23, 2016] "Welcome Spring"
Here is mine.
I asked if friends wished to make Tis Spring with me. Here is Penny's lovely , very TQC colored version. She does such beautiful piecing. She says she is still looking for just the right pink stripe for the binding.
And this is Robin of I like to Create's version. I love her patriotic colorway and stripes and plaids. Robin said she isn't using that blue eagle print for the borders--kinda hope she changed her mind, because it looks so cool.
What a fun small project. Anyone else want to take an hour or two and make a Tis Summer version?
Yes, It's Yellow:
Made another block or two. I started this during Covid lockdown, mindless piecing during those frightful dark days. Pieced the blocks incorrectly and now have started over. Looking at the book/ pattern last night I see I need a LOT more red.
The unfortunate connotation has shifted though: no more Covid memories--instead I'll remember the day last week when our skies turned mustard yellow orange and the air smelled like burnt BBQ instead of ocean and salt. [Quebec wildfire smoke pollution funneled here to the east coast US June 7, 2023]
This week's project! Harder than it looks---it's been many many years since I did tie dye. "Pimp my ugly camp T shirt, please?"

And an eBay auction Fail. Always a risk, often a disappointment---and so this one is. Big bucks too, whatever was I thinking, "Oh poor me, in the smoke filled house, I need a treat"
More on this one later. Maybe.

A funny little rain squall has arrived, Mo is hiding on the sofa back, in a snit because the spa van lady gave him his bath and brushed out all his dense old winter fur.
