Spring Cleaning

Last weekend I was in a cleaning frenzy! I admit it! Not so much ''spring cleaning'' really, as getting all my winter to-do list things done before spring officially arrived. If I don't set myself deadlines I don't get much done, do you do that?
I was telling a friend about my chores: we had to laugh, it was almost silly. I think I got 4 hours of sleep all weekend!

Here's the list, pat me on the back! Washed, de-sanded stairs in entry hall; painted the risers, waxed the treads,

washed the rug, dusted the cupola,

re-did the bench [got rid of the messy dried hydrangeas! Put turquoise and baby blue silk instead]. I love the various old blue paints.

Washed the walls everywhere, painted touch ups, washed, bleached and painted all the woodwork, especially the windowsills. Washed the windows, of course. Bleached the bathrooms, washed all the area rugs. Dusted and lemon oiled everything. Even washed all the tchochkas, like the ships in bottles.

And made slowcooker corned beef. (Kosher deli, here I come! What a waste of time & grocery money...)...OMG I was exhausted.
So to reward myself I filled the house with flowers...

Tulips...

More tulips!

more tulips and ranunculas

hyacinths...

second growth of paperwhites!

Silk lavender---

even pussywillow branches for the front steps...

ah...spring. who needs it!? I need a vacation!
