Here with an Update ~ the Flower Bulbs are Flourishing

Hi! Another Friday, a bright pre-spring day with an unfortunate howling wind. The ocean has been a gorgeous deep bright navy blue, with  long slow white foamy roller waves, just beautiful. It's very quiet. I look out there and think about how one morning--sooner than I imagine--that scene will be filled with sailboats, fishing boats, beachgoers , striped umbrellas, surfers. Smoking BBQs and coolers of beer. Good times. The beach will teem with human use.

Indoors my spring bulbs are also teeming with life. Look at my paperwhites, in just a bit more than a week! 9 days!

They are so green and pretty. See the buds.

The amaryllis are always an amazement, I have zero expectations, but so far every year they happily reappear. Note the green nubbins showing.

Red, year 7 or 8.

''blue", year three. Will this be its year to bloom????

I cover the pots with saved glass jar lids. This keeps the soil warm and damp. And they thrive.

Sadly the moldy tulips have not--thrived that is. I'll give them a few more weeks but i think they are a fail.

And yes, more hyacinths. This is a new batch from Trader Joe. At 2.49 each including the great little bulb vase, it doesn't pay to buy and cold off bulbs myself. Two are blue, one will be pink.

In the quilt room, I was making great progress with Marsh, but late one night I oh so carefully sewed the top border on. OMG! It fits! Only to find out the bobbin was empty except for the first two inches. I walked out in a huff.

I did finish the child's hat I was knitting. I think it's adorable. Just hope it fits.

I love the decrease swirl. Pretty good for making without a pattern.

We call the yarn Unicorn Dream. I think it is actually Yarnicorn from We Are Knitters. https://weareknitters.com/products/wool-yarnicorn

Pom is from Three Birds Studio. Here

I finally did get the postponed covid booster. We were out doing errands and saw the hospital outreach van at the church in town. No hassle, no wait. So far no side effects, except extreme anxiety due to all the scary reports I'd heard and read, of days off post-vaxx illness. Good thing I feel okay bec Mo and I are on our own the next ten days. Even the doggy spa sweetheart [Mo adores her], had to cancel. Mo expects a good morning run, I hope i can do that for him. So far, so good.

Dinner tonight was turkey w apple slices and cheddar, on crusty rolls, with spicy chutney. I also roasted a pan of veggies, leftover from the stew I made last week. Best to cook and use, though root vegs should last n the crisper for a few weeks?

Have a good weekend!
