A Morning in October

Good morning! Now that the excitement of my special guests' visit has come and gone, it seems a good time to step back, step out and rejuvenate. Rewind, unwind. Time for a beach walk.

October mornings are still---no hint of a breeze---but very damp and warm, almost hot. [mid 70s?]. The dunes and grasses are wet with dew. Blue blue sky overhead.

The only motion is the jittering of flocks of tiny birds, the swirling of also migratory Monarch butterflies, and of course the waves. Off shore herds of dolphins leap and cavort, much too fast for me to take a picture.

All else is quiet, my beach again deserted, in a pleasant way.

The air is heavy but clear, like fine apple brandy. Can you smell it, sand, salt, drying grasses.....
