Good morning! Now that the excitement of my special guests' visit has come and gone, it seems a good time to step back, step out and rejuvenate. Rewind, unwind. Time for a beach walk.
October mornings are still---no hint of a breeze---but very damp and warm, almost hot. [mid 70s?]. The dunes and grasses are wet with dew. Blue blue sky overhead.
The only motion is the jittering of flocks of tiny birds, the swirling of also migratory Monarch butterflies, and of course the waves. Off shore herds of dolphins leap and cavort, much too fast for me to take a picture.
All else is quiet, my beach again deserted, in a pleasant way.
The air is heavy but clear, like fine apple brandy. Can you smell it, sand, salt, drying grasses.....

I loved my "visit" to your beach. To see migrating butterflys would be incredible. I hope your visit went well. :) Kit
ReplyDeleteStunning shots of your beach, especially the birds taking off. Such numbers. The vegetation looks so interesting and varied. Thank you for taking us with you. Penny
ReplyDeleteRelaxing and rejuvenating sounds really good to me! I hope you get to relax and do something fun this week. Loved all the pictures this week, especially the birds taking flight and the sunset over beach tracks. I love our virtual walks!
ReplyDeleteIt has started to cool off here, had a storm go through and now the daily highs are mid-60s and below. Sweater weather, yay!!
It was good to hear from you, your photo's were beautiful!

I'm glad you enjoyed our walk!
DeleteAlways a pleasure to walk along the beach with you. The picture with the birds and the bright sun streaking through the clouds is awesome.
ReplyDeleteIt is so beautiful there. The colors, textures, birds. Hope it was as relaxing and rejuvenating as it should have been. It was good for me, as they say, lol.
ReplyDeleteStupid hot here again. Record breaking temps today. We went to an afternoon movie to escape the worst of it. Your side of the country is looking mighty inviting right now :)

Hi Kel. Cooler here than in Cali, but very damp. I have friends who are in CA now, said it was 95* and almost too hot for their sportscar convertible rental, to enjoy top down drives.
DeleteOMG, 'almost too hot'? Well, they're just nuts, lol. Jeeze, I almost pass out just walking to my car, I can't imagine driving around in a convertible.
DeleteLOL.
DeleteI hope your visitors appreciated what a lovely space you created for them. I also hope it was as lovely for you and they will return.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe we are closing in on October.
