Stormy Flowers

Anyone who knows me at all knows I looove hydrangeas!

So no surprise that even as "hurricane" Irene approached last week, and the Weather Channel brayed its dire predictions, as the town and county elected officials frowningly forced us to leave our beachfront homes, I ran outside and cut scads of blue and white hydrangeas!

I cut more when I got home....the pink and olive kind.

 

But my fave are the blues, especially the few bushes that keep their blue color through the fall.

Wonder of there's a trick to that? Epsom salts? Blueing?

Whatever the reason...

I love them...
