Long Island Weather: Tropical Storm Watch Issued As Jose Approaches
Confidence in a period of tropical-storm-force winds
and heavy rain is increasing for Long Island.
Ocean wave heights may reach 20 feet.
These were the weather postings Sunday night. As of now [Monday
evening] Jose has dwindled and faded off to sea. When we know a
storm holds no threat it can be fun to watch its progress and
read the dire and sometimes mystifying notices posted on
Weather Bug.
Off and on all day today I struggled to repair my deck screen door.
So frustrating! And hard to reach. A friend came by with his electric
drill and fixed it for me in moments, then he offered to ''take Mo
for a little run". Yes, please.
They went to the beach!
Mo was very excited.
He marked his territory well.
I'm told Mo loved the beach and was so excited!
He is tired tonight.
This is storm flooding overwash.
The birds are standing on a sandbar where we sat all summer
with our umbrellas. It wasn't a sandbar then!
Earlier I went by the surfing beach to get more pics but the lot
was jammed with surfers' cars, vans, trucks...so I left. Sometimes
the guys don't like having photos taken, even if I am NOT taking
pics of them. No need to antagonize anyone. [even though I am
tempted to say, Well this is my beach, not yours!]
If we get a little rain tomorrow, it will be a sewing day. Part
