Happy Spring to all of those in this hemisphere. Welcome Fall to you lucky people down south.
Spring? Easter? My childhood memories of Easter are all about warm sunshine, green grass and flowers, and a big family day. Very exciting! Maybe new clothes or new shoes? And an Easter basket filled with a chocolate Bunny and some jelly beans. The day might include a family brunch--something to dress up for! Or dinner at my aunt's.
Now, hmm, dinner at Aunt Mildred's. She was much older than my dad, his sister in law, more a mom to him, but not a grandmother to us kids. We were tolerated, at best. She always made detested if fragrant roast lamb, smothered in garlic, onions, and rosemary. Lucky for me I was filled with Cadbury mini eggs. Her table was set with heirloom china and crystal, a linen cloth, polished silver. I loved visiting her because she made gorgeous appliqued quilts and had a real spinning wheel made by my dad. I kinda loved her scary but oh so fluffy German Shepherd dogs too. [Looking back, I wish I had known her better.]
Nowadays Easter/ Passover is all about spring break and travel. We're scolded and told to embrace new traditions--and ''Actually you hated those family dinners, admit it, mom." Times do change. And so I must. I have created some cheery sunshine-y corners in my home for me and Mo---and you all. Enjoy.
Beautiful and much treasured Tiny Baskets quilt, a gift from blog friend Dorothy Ramage, in Australia years ago. Lovely, vintage-y Egg in the bowl, top, from Penny in South Africa. My friends know what I love!

Walks: I've been walking alone on rare sunny days, since little Mo is still on rest mode. (His pain episode last Friday was so distressing for me.) I went out one sunny morning and found daffodils, glorious rays of sunshine and hope.
