In memory of my mom who was the inspiration for this blog. We wrote real letters weekly and shared journals traded every month, since I left home age 18. This blog was created to fill empty spaces when she died.
And remembering my sweet MIL who made the holiday ALL about her as was her way. My ex husband planted an azalea every year in her yard in Brooklyn. I wonder if they're still there, much larger but still beautiful.
And to Baby Mo, who filled the empty nest spaces in my heart for 12 loving special years. He let me be his mom, he was my dearest boy.
You are always in my heart, Mo, we'll met again someday in time.

Happy Mother's Day. I hope you had nice phone calls from your offspring. As you know, mine live near enough to take me out for a Mother's Day meal, but next year I shall ask for the Pensioner Portion as the plate was Piled HIGH!!!

DeleteIt's been 15 years since I lost my mom. I have fond memories of the guys grilling on Mother's Day Sunday, the launch to spring abd usually nice weather. My MIL is still with us and we'll bring her flowers later but since my husband died, I don't really like big famiky meals out with his family.
ReplyDeleteI so agree about the in laws family get togethers, tho I did Mothers Day brunch/ lunch for my MIL long after ex husband had left us. She was always gracious and appreciative, quite a character, w her still strong and grating Scottish accent.
