Hi everyone! What a thrill, I made it to the pumpkin patch, aka the Fall Festival at the nursery over the bridge. I didn't think our annual visit would happen this year, as both L and I are very cautious about being exposed to the virus. But a few weeks ago I had to leave my car to be inspected and have an oil change, so L picked me up and we went to the nursery to use up an hour waiting.
Some readers may recognize the lovely 1800s farmhouse that forms the base of the nursery.
The little window that fascinates me and reader Kel was interesting that day, the light just right to let us see it goes all the way thru the second floor. [I wish I d thought to walk over on the other side where the shrubs and trees are sold to see if there's a tiny window there ttoo. [Next time!]
The group of buildings is very open and airy, so deemed safe. They had a very well done cart sanitizing system set up, with clean carts in one area by the entry and used ''dirty carts'' well off to the other side by the exit and parking lot. Yes! They have a parking lot!!
The only other customer[s] were a young mom and her toddler, also taking pictures.
Lovely fall plants and planters:
I always love seeing the giant pumpkin, Big Max.
And his expensive brothers!
Cider--a fun place, a very old early 1800s cider mill supplies their cider. Super sweet this year, I don't know why.
This nursery specizes in seasonal fairy gardens. They cost between $75 and $150.oo. I always think they]d be a great gift.
And of course miles and piles of pumpkins to love.
Enjoy your visit! Who would you choose?

gone to the beach...
Out and about: I always enjoy seeing the fall ales and beers from local breweries.
I showed my friend who was helping me grocery shop and he said he prefers pumpkin seltzer! Hmmmm, bet it has a dash of vodka added!
I love pumpkin beer! Haven't had any for a couple of years though. Looks like a nice outing and thankful there weren't a lot of people.
ReplyDeleteI love those warty pumpkins!!
Thanks for taking us along. I love these cheerful fall images. Kinda nice that the cider is sweeter this year;).
ReplyDeleteI'm still smiling at the excited 'Mo' pic.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely enthusiastic participation going on there! I choose the flat white pumpkin. The variety you have is amazing. Lovely outing. Penny
Fun tour, I love thpse pumpkin color pansies too. We went to the farm stand/barn again yesterday and bought more squash, cucumbers, peppers, lovely tomatoes and apples. The apples are so very delicious this year.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place. I love your photos. We don't get the variety of pumpkins here. I was going to a pick your own pumpkin patch out of town but it was book in advance only and also buy a £3 token which could be redeemed. As our weather has been terrible, I didn't want to book in advance then find it was pouring with rain. I just bought some ordinary pumpkins at the supermarket for soup and pies.
ReplyDeleteI always love your "pumpkin" outings! So many pumpkins, I'd have a terrible time choosing! I kind of like the blue-ish ones but really I like all of them.
ReplyDeleteThe planted containers are beautiful, I especially liked the one with peppers and purple grass! And the fairy gardens... they'd be so much fun to make.
I'm glad to see you got to go! I have to admit I'm kind of enjoying being able to go someplace without there being so many people out, but it also makes me feel sorry for the businesses.
I'm not much for beer but it's pretty entertaining to see what people dream up to use pumpkin flavor in! Hmm, does anyone make pumpkin spice ice cream? That sounds good...
Have a great weekend!
This is from Kel, somehow is in my inbox email but not here!
ReplyDelete"Looks like you had a nice outing. I do hope farm stands and pumpkin patches sell most of their inventory. Lol, that window! One of the great mysteries of our time ;)
Love, love the planted bushel baskets. The one with the red chiles and the purple fountain grass was my favorite until I saw the basket with the pumpkin colored pansies, gah, I don't think I could decide!
Do you think anyone will purchase the $95 pumpkin? I wish I could bring them all home.
Thanks for taking us along. What a treat."
