December

December tippy-toed in on a burst of misty rain and soft sunshine...it's warm out! Let's go to the beach.

The upper third of the boardwalk and the highest bench are still here. Maybe they will stay all winter? I bet I'm not the only one who enjoys having them remain (if they are safe from storms?).

The dune grasses still have a touch of autumn color.

The beach is huge, a long walk for me these days.

Hard to believe but these photos were taken at 2 PM. Already looks like sunset...

Halfway through my walk, the wind picked up and the cold front rolled though, temperature dropped fast! Chilly!  But lovely. I was dressed in layers but the sudden high wind cut right through my fleece and windbreaker.

More dune grasses along the path home. The seeds will feed the tiny birds who pass through sometimes---snow buntings, pippits, seaside sparrows, mourning doves.

Nearer to home: the forsythia is confused, and blooming! Poor thing.

Later Mo practiced wearing his Santa's Elf hat. I showed him his baby who has a hat too.

He doesn't seem thrilled ~ "Bah humpug!"

The cottage is all dressed in its red and white for Christmas. I'll show you more next time.

  3. The beach looks so inviting. Love the pics of the rays of sun shooting through the clouds. Hope they keep the boardwalk and bench for the winter...but, of course if there are going to be bad storms, they should be kept stored and safe for next year.

Poor forsythia. Poor Mo. Gotta say, he wears it well though ;)

Nice seeing the beach and ocean. Feels like I'm right there.

  4. Yay, you got to the beach! LONG walk! Nice to see you can do it, though. The water looks cold although it's pretty.

I love the rose hips! I think they're so pretty. The plant with the strappy yellowing leaves is interesting, too.

Mo looks adorable in his hat, he makes anything look good!

    Take care!
