Heat Wave

Hi! Happy September. We're having a heat wave---so you know where I'm spending my days!

The ocean is warm, the days are hot and muggy [prob yours are too?] and by now the warm ocean keeps things warm at night, no cool sea breezes for awhile.

No rain either. My list of rainy day projects is growing to huge proportions. My friend wanted to help me clean my rugs today and what did I tell her? "Time enough to clean house in the Fall."

gone to the beach....

  1. And now our weather has turned a little corner, at least for a few days. Enjoy your summer!

  2. The ocean looks so inviting. Glad you have the luxury of enjoying it. It WAS stupid hot and humid here all last week. I was perpetually moist, even when I wasn't sweating! The AM marine layer has returned and it's much more comfortable. I do miss the warm evenings though.

    Enjoy Lizzie!

    1. It s the humidity that I hate! I don t mind hot weather---or cold---but I hate sweating. When I get home from walking Mo I am dripping, ick. 100% humidity here tonight, light fog. AC is back on.

  3. Our weather has been pretty warm the last few days, but not the 100+ of some summers so I'm not complaining! Of course 'people' are starting to say this winter will be the coldest in the past 5 years.....but I think they said that last year, too. Not like we can change it! When winter comes I just try not to get too low on anything, so I don't have to go out if it's bad.

If I was on your beach I think I'd have to be wading to stay cooler! It looks nice, though, as long as I had some shade to keep me from getting too fried. Are you sewing on the beach now or is it too windy?

Big plans for the long weekend? Have a good one!

    1. I may make fajitas on the grill w all the fixings! Mostly just beach days. I haven t been sewing as much on the beach. Just have the stars to sew for the Summertime quillt, Pokeberry's handwork is done until the pieced blocks are sewn. And I have hand quilting. This week I read: new Elin Hilderbrand, Nancy Thayer [both Nantucket]; new Brad Meltzer, finished Daniel Silva series reread.
