Happy Mothers Day!
I sat on the deck and finished my center block for Lori of Humble Quilts newest quilt along. here
The applique is intended to be done by machine but I am always unhappy when I machine sew quilt applique and so I somewhat messily hand stitched this panel.
Not my best effort here, I admit, though I even cut out a tiny bulls eye dot for the birdie's eye!
I find it hard to sew at night even with a bright halogen work light. Sitting on the beach in the sun is much nicer!
The quiltalong is by Lori along with another blogger: Randy of Barrister's Block. She calls it a Sow Along. I am new to her site and so I don't know why she calls it ''sow'' instead of sew...but here is the link to her version. here You can see I was inspired by her brights-on-red version.
Hope everyone's day is lovely...

ReplyDeleteLove the colors. So bright. So full of life.
ReplyDeleteI love your start on the quilt/wall hanging. I know you will post updates as you go.
ReplyDeleteLove the beach shots; they remind me of what I could see if I'd get out of my chair and walk to my beach. :)

Nice flowers (both real and applique)! I love the tiki-face thing with your pansies, too. Did you get to have your day out? I hope you had some fun!
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Mother's Day! Gorgeous block!! I don't sew very well by machine so (sow or sew) I'm all about hand work!
