Shhhh! We don't want to jinx ourselves but rumor has it,

| waiting for Earl (or food?) |
 Earl is losing his punch.
No ooomphf in poor Earl by the time he sideswipes The Beach tomorrow.
  |
| overwash at high tide earlier today |
At least that is what we are hoping.
  |
| sea foam |
Maybe not even any rain?
The stores were quiet and well-stocked this afternoon....
  |
| hurricane skies: wispy clouds covering the sun |
No lines at the gas station....
No preparedness flyers from the local Safety Patrol (is that, like, the police? or what?)...
  |
| wind picking up, lots of seaspray |
The town did not pull the lifeguard stands from the beach...
  |
| terns (behind the flood water) and skimmers awaiting Earl |
The marinas were still full of hopeful white boats....
But I stocked up on food and ice. Put gas in my Jeep. You know...just in case?

I love your pics and wish I could just go to the beach like that and take pictures. I am definately jealous but wish you safety. Perhaps you will have some great finds when it has gone away.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the good wishes! Earl has simply faded away....which is, I guess, a good thing.
ReplyDeleteYes! Definitely hoping for good treasure once the water recedes, Ill keep you posted.
