All is well here so far.

Just a check in post. The blizzard is maybe almost over. I've never seen so much snow fall in one twenty-four hours. I have read reports of winds overnight at 80+ mph and possibly almost three feet of snow in coastal areas here. Probably more like 18-24" but the drifts on my deck are as high as my head, my front door had a drift chest high against the glass storm door. [a neighbor just now cleared it/ a safety issue, plus I m claustrophobic]The deck drifts are higher than the waist high railings, though that incudes snow that keeps falling from the roof.
If the power holds on, I think we'll be ok.

Stay warm and safe out there!! Just the sound of that wind is so scarey--I don't think we slept all last night here; Tom stayed dressed (just in case, altho' I don't know how we could have gotten out!!) We are still not plowed out on our road...huge snow drifts here too...

I didn't sleep either, stayed up til 4 am then yes went to sleep briefly, stayed dressed. I have this phobia of the windows blowing in and being caught in my nightgown. Tho who'd care? And as you say, where would one go? I'm glad the snow has stopped now and you guys are safe!

DeleteAmazing pictures, and how clever are you and Mo to have an alternative to going outside as needed. I wish we had done something like that with our little girl, it would make life easier when traveling and she hates going out in the rain or snow, and is convinced that if its rainy out the back door we could take her out front where it might be dry!

I plan ahead! Mo is okay w potty station and he has a preferred outdoor area on the deck. We won't see that for months maybe, So much snow./ You can try to train your dog still. Potty pads left by back door. But once they pee inside they will use that spot, so choose carefully.
DeleteOh gosh, that must have been pretty scary to have a total white out and such strong winds drifting the snow up against your house. Yeesh. Hope you don't lose power. Keep warm both.

DeleteThat much snow is scary! Once when I was in Maine it snowed 18" in one day, but there wasn't much wind so no big drifts. It did make it very hard to find a car in a parking lot!! I'm glad your power stayed on and hope that continues!
