So quickly it is September! Here at the beach we optimistically celebrate and treasure Summer to its very end, this year on September 23rd. And many years beach days go on and on into "fall'', only the darker evenings hinting of dark winter days to come..
Note the blackbird mama's subtly empty nest, a vacant birdhouse. So sad. I always secretly cried when my little ones went back to school, back in the day.
The pink blue super moon! It was lovely. Joyful and rare. Magical.
Tonight's menu is mushroom/ swiss cheese burgers on garlic bread with slabs of farmers market tomatoes, corn, cole slaw.
Back next week with a regular long post. Thank you all who visit and comment, I love my blog friends!

Below : photos from South Africa, as blogs friends Penny and Nicky celebrate the start of spring to come. Penny says this is a stork.

it, in fact, lit up our whole yard--just an amazing sight.
Hope the rest of your weekend is lovely--

Such lovely words. I feel the same this time of year.
ReplyDeleteAgree about no pumpkins until October! We still have a couple of weeks of "official" summertime!
ReplyDeleteI love your September quilt block with the bird house, bird, and oak leaves and acorns. It is delightful.
ReplyDeleteDoes you weather stay warm in September and beyond? Warm enough to be in the water?
Like you, I always felt sad when my girls went back to school in the fall.
Our blue moon was golden, huge, and beautiful. Your pink moon looks huge and beautiful, too.
Beautiful zinnias!
