Hugs and Kisses, Hearts and a Pug

Hello everyone! It is mid-February already! Happy Valentines Day. Sharing little hearts and Valentine touches here at the beach.

Tiny quilts, both from TQC blog free patterns or a kit.

Big bowl of handmade hearts, many from the Wellfleet flea,
collected long ago.

Bandboxes

I love this gathering, how the old mulberry transferware plate echoes the color of the hyacinth's tissue-papery purple bulbs.

Last week I was at Home Goods [shopping post later this week], and they had very little left for Valentine's Day.

[was hoping for a Rae Dunn something, maybe a Valentine doggy bowl or pitcher.]

It's too warm for Mo to wear his Valentine sweaters. We won't complain! He wore his bobble hearts headband instead.

We both send warm Valentine Wishes to you all.

gone to the beach......

a winter's sidewalk finds.

tiniest 1/2" eagle on shield thing, has a prong on the back. I'm thinking tie-tack?

And I thought this was an earring but no, just rusty trash.

scribble journal and perpetual try out journal. Not loving the perpetual set-up, too anxiety producing.

  2. Happy Valentines Day to you and Mo. Your McCoy pots of daffodils look like you'll be seeing some color soon. Just this morning I spotted some daffodil shoots poking up from the mulch in front of the church. Spring definitely is on the way! We don't celebrate Valentines day but I do have a small quilt with some heart fabrics that we found in a thrift shop a few years ago. It's on the back of the couch for Sammy to nap on.

  3. Love the hearts. I keep thinking I will make some for me. I made four hanging hearts this year and gave them all away. I think my favorite picture is the purple plate and hearts.

  4. I discovered your blog by accident this weekend--can't remember who had you listed on their blog-follow list. I love your beach photos.

So many hearts! You have quite a collection - I don't remember seeing the ones in the bowl before, or maybe I've forgotten.

Happy Valentine's Day! It sure got here fast, seems like it was just turning February! Mo looks comfy, and he apparently doesn't mind wearing his headband. He's so sweet.

Your collection of finds is interesting, especially the eagle pin. I've been looking around a little, and the eagle with his wings held down like that makes me want to say it's German. The only images I found with even a passing similarity were from WW2 German stuff. But nothing just like that, so I could be completely wrong!

I'm excited to see the hyacinths bloom - and the other bulbs, too!

    Thanks for sharing!

  7. I think I would struggle to find one heart in my house, let alone patchwork/fabric ones! A great display you have and I love the colour-matching with the plates.

I agree, the Eagle pin looks like it could be German.

I love the wee quilt 3rd photo down. May try something like that if I EVER have spare time!

    1. Hi! You have your antique horse brass piece w the beautiful brass hearts! Here is a link for the tiny hearts quilt. You could hand piece it, some evening sewing? https://temeculaquiltco.blogspot.com/2023/01/tqc-journal-special-edition.html

  8. Dear Mo does not look happy, but he looks so very cute.
Your little Valentine quilts are so sweet. I especially like the ones with hearts and the fabrics you chose for the quilt.
You have so many wonderful hearts, all so beautifully displayed and photographed.
I enjoy both of your journals though I can imagine the stress of painting/drawing in the perpetual journal.
