On this dark and dripping Monday morning.
Hi everyone. It's drizzling here with bands of heavy rain, an altogether unappealing day to begin the last week of February. But at least it isn't snow! But windy and cold.
Indoors is bright and cheerful, the cottage filled with the scents of crockpot experiment braised beef, oatmeal cookies, and lemon sage candles.
Your kitchen must smell heavenly! Still snowing here, more coming tomorrow and Wednesday if the weather report is to be believed. Your tulip bouquet is gorgeous, wonderful colors.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowerings...they must lift your spirits during these cold, windy gray days...
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing...hugs, Julierose
Flowers do brighten dreary days! Spring may not be exactly right around the corner... but there is a hint of it!
ReplyDeleteThe weather might be foul outside, but it's certainly Springtime in your cottage. Forgive my ignorance - can I ask a probably stupid question? Do you shovel and cart away the snow off your deck or does it just drain off when it melts?
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are bright & pretty! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you have your flowers to brighten up your rainy days! It was supposed to rain here Monday but it missed us again. Have to admit I'm not sad about that! The melting snow makes enough mud. Although the difference between the -32 windchill last Monday and the high of 60+ Tuesday was pretty amazing! Hopefully the sun will soon come out for you, too!
ReplyDeleteYour home sounds soooo cozy! The flowers are lovely, and the aromas from the candle and the slow cooker must be amazing.
ReplyDeleteWe had a few pretty warm days (77-80-ish), it waa a bit much, lol. Now in the mid to high 60's again. I noticed that there are a few calla lilies blooming in the backyard, and of course the dependable irises are putting on a show :)
Our city is doing a pretty good job with covid vaccinations. A decent amount of those eligible have already had their second dose. I hope there has been some progress where you are.
Oh, your first photo out your window looks like a watercolor! It's so intriguing. Thanks for sharing. You take care.
Look at all those pretty flowers!! How did your braised meat come out? I whipped up a roasted chicken the other day that was great. You have a great weekend! Kit
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, Lizzy. I love the photos of the centers with their contrasting "stars." And gorgeous sky photos with the clouds and bare branches.
