Happy Thanksgiving!
Hello friends! The turkey plates, the candles, the best silverware will remain unused in their dark cupboards this year. Thanksgiving is cancelled.
This year:
Looking back:
****************************************
I used to love Thanksgiving, especially in Cape Cod. My mom would put the BIG turkey in the oven with a timer, so trusting! And we'd pile into the car and drive around to the various historic sites: Corn Hill, First Encounter Beach.
We can have an honest history, I understand that. But I fear a heritage. a joy in America, is gone. Lost in a mire of pandemic and poor leadership, and PC bigotry.
If you're able to be with friends or family, or if you are alone on this holiday, I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving.

gone to the beach....

Just stopping in to wish you and Mo a lovely Thanksgiving day. I hope the weather is conducive to a nice beach stroll and sitting out on your deck for a bit.
ReplyDeleteThose emptied shelves tell the story, don't they? ;000 I fear we are in for a long, rough ride.
ReplyDeleteBut for tomorrow we will put it all aside and celebrate our heritage with a feast. We will be just the 2 of us here, but we are looking forward to a meal with all the fixin's;)))
I wish you a lovely quiet day..
hugs from afar, Julierose
You have such lovely things and the photography is excellent. I am using today (different from the past due to the virus but also so many of my family is gone) as a time to enjoy the memories. My adult son is fixing turkey and all the trimmings just for the two of us. He is having fun and I am relaxing!
ReplyDeleteMany blessings and happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteYep, our history is being erased.
Happy Thanksgiving! I am glad you are celebrating even though it is in a small way. I too am admiring your photography.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely photos. Sorry that Thanksgiving is cancelled in your household, but hopefully it will just be for this year only.
ReplyDeleteWe have one daughter living with us, but her siblings will spend their Christmas together and we will have a meet-up to open presents - probably held in the big stable outside so we can socially distance. Not ideal, but necessary. They both live and work in busy cities . . .
Those empty shelves show that most people are panic-buying again . . .
Happy Thanksgiving! Hope your day was sunny & enjoyable!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving Hope you & Mo had an enjoyable day!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to revisit some of your previous Thanksgivings, and to see some of your treasures.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and Mo. Hope you had a nice day.
Happy Thanksgiving greetings to you and Mo. Thank you for sharing past celebrations. Penny
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a good Thanksgiving anyway, even if you couldn't have a dinner party. I know you miss having your friends together!
ReplyDeleteWe were able to have a family meal, even though one person had HAD the virus and recovered (she's a teacher). Granddaughter enjoyed the food and being the center of attention!
Too many people are trying to 'edit' our history to make it politically correct, which is stupid. We're supposed to LEARN from our history and past mistakes so we don't repeat them. I'm not sure where all the stupid people in power came from but I wish they'd go away!
Today (Saturday) is bright and sunny but chilly. I should be at least thinking about Christmas shopping (online, because I can't walk so much) but it's hard to get in the mood today! Oh, well. I'm sure I'll get it done soon!
Hope you enjoy your weekend!
