October Home

Good evening on a beautiful October day here at the beach. The days are so short now, evenings long, dark, and even a bit chilly. The sudden invasion of Autumn has given me the incentive to warm up the cottage---visually if not literally. [No heat here til after New Years! That's my tradition, hahaha.]

Want to see how my Indigo and Cheddar/// Cobalt and Pumpkin style idea is working? Come walk through the rooms with me.

Have a good week.

PS Tomorrow I hope to post a brief thing about my Almost Amish sewalong quilt. Sorry to rush, it's for the linky group.

            gone to the beach....

Next year I think I'll do all white and sepia with just pumpkin/ cheddar accent. I hope I remember.

  1. If you don't remember, no problem repeating what you've done this year, it's picture-perfect!

  2. I love the blues and oranges! Looks very cheerful but also very 'fall'. And I love all the 'mercury glass' pumpkins and jars, too. I didn't know you had so many!

I can't believe how fast it gets dark already - and we haven't had the time change yet! It'll be even worse then!

Thanks for sharing, always enjoy what you've been up to!

  4. Absolutely love all this, as blue and orange is a great combo and I love indigo. The cake stand quilt hanging over the door - to die for! And the nine patch on the bed. Well, all of it!

  5. It all looks great, Lizzy. I love (!) the bittersweet (we can rarely find it around here), they hydrangea flowers, and the quilts on the bed! Gorgeous, all. It's hard to believe you don't turn heat on until the New Year! Do you have a fireplace or some other way to stay warm, or does it just not get that cold?

    1. It would be unusual for it to be be cold enough to need heat, tho if it does get cold, I relax my rules, no sense in freezing---plus Mo cannot tolerate extreme cold [or heat].

  9. This post got by me! Glad I saw it, finally. I love seeing your pumpkins. Is the orange one with the curly cue stem new? Your house looks nice and colorful.

You are a hard ass, lol!! My 'no heat' rule only goes till Thanksgiving.

Thanks for sharing your lovely, cozy home with us :)
