I recently began reading a recommended novel, called Fall of Marigolds. A friend and I are both readers with similar interests and taste in books. But I couldn't read FoM, I actually returned it to Amazon/ Kindle, something I never do. The book is about a young widow remembering the day the Towers fell. Too real, too much trauma, I will never forget that terrible day, and the days that followed.

I understand. I can't watch the movie, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close with Tom Hanks. And I've stopped watching any of the videos of that day. 😢 Kit

I doubt any of us who were around in 2001 will ever forget that day. I don't recall ever feeling so alone and afraid for our family and the country. We had just moved to the west coast from NY two weeks previous, didn't know a soul, kids scattered around the country; my husband's new boss had just been at meetings in the Twin Towers the week before. We watched in disbelief after the first tower was hit, then the sickening scene of the second plane. Maybe even more tragic, the speed with which the unity in the country dissipated and the deterioration of our society since.
