bringing the summer scents of beach roses, honeysuckle, and salty air....
on the grey deck a new pineapple tablecloth, an open bottle of crisp New Zealand sauvignon blanc
And the bamboo pineapple tray with chunks of fresh pineapple, June strawberries, and fresh mozzarella. We huddle in sweaters and rain jackets, the fog is quite wet---raise a toast to June! (and scurry back inside.)
Have a great weekend.

gone to the beach.....
Brave souls you are. The Sauvignon Blanc should help.
ReplyDeleteThose must be quite hardy roses. Would they be Rugosas I wonder? So lovely to see the white as well.
Mo has the right idea - snug as a pug. Penny
The roses are Rosa Rugosa, the wild version not cultivated. Horribly thorn encrusted but big and pretty. Flowers are the size of the palm of my hand!
DeleteIt's hard to imagine June being chilly and wet when it's been in the 90s already here - heat and humidity we usually don't have until mid-July and August! We didn't get much 'spring' this year, went right from winter to summer!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could smell the roses! I bet that breeze smells wonderful. It'd be great if you could 'can' some and send it along, LOL!
Have a good weekend!
Got the sweaters and hoodies back out tonight. Gale blowing, 55*, wind chill 50* . Guessing winds at 30-40 mph, and of course colder here by the water. Like a lovely Fall day.
DeleteSpring always feels a little mixed up here, weatherwise!
ReplyDeleteTransition times. I like Fall better tho.
DeleteIt sounds awesome to have a little nosh on the porch at the beach with Mo! Such a shame that it's still cold enough to need to bundle (at least Mo's got some great sweaters)!
ReplyDeleteLisa
Hot toddy weather, I'm afraid! Mo wore his spring vestie in robin's egg blue. But he is afraid of the wind, the blowing sand hurts his eyes.
DeleteBeach roses. I can't imagine anything better than the sea and roses. Ahhh. :) Kit
ReplyDeleteAnd the honeysuckle on a still morning, such a delight!
DeleteAaahhh, I bet the scents smell lovely. What a combo.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine your deck scene. Sounds perfect...though maybe just a smidge warmer would be ok.
You and Mo enjoy your Sunday!
Kel
We had one hot day and I took off my flannel sheets. What a mistake. windchill in the high 40s now here, sigh
