Hi everyone! Today we have a wonderful photos essay brought to you by my friends MH and LK.
Today...at the beach:
the dunes regrowth, below
a new secret path
to explore next winter....
to explore next winter....
despite the signs!
the new, giant beach cart!
lazy days.....
gully's lunch
Sorry to say I am still home, indoors, recuperating. I have missed an entire summer. I have progresed from being in bed 24/7 to some time on the deck or on the sofa, watching "On Demand" and catching up on all my fave shows. I even began the restortion [just a soaking, cleaning] of a doll quilt I bought just before I got sick. So...Yay!?

gone to the beach...
Thank you, L and M! Love you!
So good to see you here! Keep mending and don't worry, you'll have Fall and Winter. Love the pics. I miss the sea! Kit
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you're feeling better, even though I'm sure we'd all prefer you to be back to 100%. Just don't push it and let yourself have time to heal!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are great, please tell your friends HELLO and THANKS from all of us - for the pictures AND for helping take care of you and your family.
One question - what do the flags mean on the sign??
Take care!
Thanks, Kit!
ReplyDeleteMel, if you enlarge the first photo, with Gully, you ll see the sign says Bathing in Proetected Area Only. [bathing is a NY archaic word for swimming,lol]...so there s another set of flags off to the left/ east...and the area between the green flags is watched by a constant crew of lifeguards, then long stretches of beach are between further red flags where swimming is unsafe and prohbite. On the nire beach there are perhaps 6 green flag sections. We have rough surf with riptides and the rules are strictly enforced. The guards run many rescues each year. The span of beachfront is much too large to be safely monitored in its entirety. Purple flags mean body boarding or surfing is permitted, these flags may vary depending on where the waves are best. Surf fishing is permitted in the red areas....
ReplyDeleteSo happy that your recovery is progressing. Soon you'll be lounging on the beach, soaking up some sun and listening to the surf at your feet. Love the photos. I've been walking on my beach the last week or so, checking on the turtle nests - a couple are ready to hatch. I hope I can walk the beach tomorrow morning, there one nest I want to check on! Take care of yourself, so you can be the one to snap the pictures.
