Hello! Did you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day?
Are you exhausted form Black Friday or did you stay home?
I have to say---my dinner was amazing, the food came out great. A friend gave me a coupon for a fresh Butterball turkey, oh they are the best! And the new oven performed admirably.
Sorry, Margaret, no pix of the food at all! We were very hungry after all that prep work and a long walk on the beach. Wasn't it a spectacular day!
I don't usually show my house, but here it is, Thanksgiving, 2011:
(The house is usually blue and white, except at the holidays (and yes there's a pile of beach junk and golf clubs in that corner, sigh): )
Sometime the bright oranges or reds and greens give me the creeps, I long for my blue. But it's pretty, just for a change?
Browns and autumn transferware....
Our Thanksgiving table....
And these are the pumpkin cheesecake cupcakes.
They were pretty, but the taste/ texture just so-so.
Give me a good pecan pie made with my cousin Elaine's recipe any day. Yum! No more experiments in the pretties for me. (The filigree cupcake covers are surprisingly hard to work with too--the frosting gets all over the place!)
And here I am feeding my gulls!
They were happy with their bag of bread! More goodies for them tomorrow....

gone to the beach.....
PS Today's sunset [Friday] was sooo long and spectacular that those pix will have their own post in a day or two!

I do like all your pretty blues, but it is nice to be able to change things up for the seasons or the holidays. I need to do some major cleaning around here tomorrow. My sprained ankle kept me off my feet for weeks, but it is a whole heck of a lot better now. Wishing you a wonderful weekend. Tammy
ReplyDeleteYour house looks great! I like the blue best, too, although I don't think I could live with all the white as I'm a messy person. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThe table and the plates are just beautiful. Do kids/people want to sit where their favorite plate is?
The cupcakes were so pretty. Where did you find the acorns and leaves? Too bad you didn't really like the taste and texture.
Thanks for sharing! I feel like I got to be there!

Hi everyone!
ReplyDeleteThe sugar acorns and leaves are from Fancy Flours. www.fancyflours.com
they have wonderful baking embellishemnts and ship fast etc.
Margaret, the large fish is a fishing camp sign, probably from Minnesota/ Lake Superior region. Aithentic, even has potshot holes. It came from the Museum of Amrican Folk Art's antique show at the piers in NYC, years ago.

Happy Holidays. I have alwas loved the colors of your Holidays you have a wonderful crisp clear not over done way of dressing your home. I feel as if I'm sitting on your sofa with you.
