Valentine Pretties

Hi! I must share these adorable, prim Valentine bottles with you...

I treated myself! Usually I only buy supply type things on eBay, but I love my friend Michelle's primitives at Olde Farmhouse Simples. here

But I was having no luck! I lost auction after auction...which is great for Michelle, but I was sad.

So she kindly made me my very own set of her wonderful old bottles, embellished with her handmade tiny "hooked rugs" that are needle-punched primitive patterns, in this case, hearts.

She adds a rusty key here and there and tucks the bottles, or tins, in found little crates! I love mine....

Just a perfect simple Valentine touch, my cherished hearts...and not just for Valentine's Day either...

I also was lucky enough to win one of her large prim bunnies!

Isn't he sweet! Look at that face. And grungy patina, the old paper label, the yellow chamomile flowers! Right now he is sitting among my lace bobbins, waiting for spring...

And here's a tiny rabbit from Michelle's Christmas prims. I love him so much and have kept him on display. He's playing in the cinnamon sticks right now...

When Michelle isn't selling her handmade treasures, she lists beautiful primitive antiques, usually wood pieces [treen] found in the barns and sheds and shops around her home in Maine.

Her eBay listing name is Olde Farmhouse Simples, here's her link again...and I can promise you her photos alone are worth a visit! Enjoy...

The Most Romantic Valentine....

So romantic...a tiny glass flask, washed up on the sand, its edges worn and softened by years in the tumbling surf. A slightly tattered label: "escape", a weathered antique key, a rusty heart...and one perfect beach pebble for its topper.

Pebble is glittery pale granite, not attached, to you may add a message or a photo.

Glass is clear, with weathering on the edges. Authentically found on my beach, cleaned, upcycled. I added the beautiful old weathered key, the rusty heart. The tattered label with its tantalizing message Escape....

The little botle is about the size of the palm of your hand..5 1/2" tall, x 2 3/4" wide. Volume is one quarter pint, 1/2 cup liquid.

Only marking is a small 20 on base, probably a tiny whiskey bottle?

Other seaglass bottles:

This set will be listed Friday....

The bottles are all shades of pale blue and aqua....

This set is "purple-ing" in my window sunshine, already has become a deeper amethyst. Not for sale yet....

A just-for-fun Beach Dreams memory bottle, below. This one is a found and quite weathered seaglass Corona bottle, recycled with labels, tags, and treasures [shells, beads etc] and filled with white sand and beach treasure. These are wonderful for souvenirs of happy summer days, kids heading off to college love them!

A gorgeous old hexagonal patent medicine bottle and rare pink scallop shell...

A large rum bottle, specially made for a young guy who brought me his beachcombed bottle/ treasure to fill!

sold

Another Corona bottle...this one is dainty, delicately frosted by the sand and waves

sold
a whole bowl of treasure bottles!

See! Valentines can be romantic...

               and strange...

                               and not red...

Frills and Flowers

Hi! It's Monday! Another stunningly beautiful day here at the beach. And probably where you are too...the weather guy says yes?

Waking up to a house filled with sunshine really starts the week off perfectly, doesn't it!

I have hyacinths from Trader Joe's...5 stems/ $5.00.

I stood there in the market... in a quandry, yet again! Pink. Blue? Pink! Blue...oh for that price get both. Oooh and the scent....spring is in the air for sure.....

And how about a 2.99 pot of bright yellow tete a tete daffs! Love them with my blue and whites....

In my etsy shop, new: found treasures...for Valentine gifts, Mothers Day, treat yourself?

I find these tiny chandelier crystals now and then when I am hunting for the big icicle prisms for my Christmas ornaments. Last summer the woman who was selling asked me what I do with the crystals. I explained...and she poked the miniatures with a perfectly manicured NY fingernail:
"What about these?"
Well I don't know but they're pretty..., I said.
She held up the amethyst drop: "They'd make such amazing, romantic pendants," she said, holding it to her throat.
And so the prism necklaces were born. I hope you all like them!

This is my favorite---already sold. But I have many tiny vintage keys...just have to find my extra hearts....

Have a great week!
