The beach cookout and peonies sounds like just about the perfect way to celebrate.

The story about your little niece wanting to make a sachet is just adorable! So smart! And her stomping is hliarious.

If she is still interested a fun easy way to make sachets is to tie uo squares of fabric, or old hankies, in a hobo bundle, with pretty ribbons. Maybe there s some lavender out in the garden or raid the fridge/ spice rak: basil, oregano, cinnamon, cloves etc. [her mom needs fresh bottles of herbs anyway right?] I love doing crafts with kids, one of my dreams once upon a time was to do that as a career----but I hated school too much to actually be a teacher...

Always more hearts in my shop, when you need them ''someday''.

lizzy

ps tell me how your kitties are doing, you can email me if you don t want to write it here.Lizzy Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13925662100321427762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8918333902682601699.post-58881443594780910232014-06-14T02:36:11.894-04:002014-06-14T02:36:11.894-04:00The sachets are so pretty. When we were in MD, our eight year old niece wanted to make her own sachet--she had recently read about them in a book. She used a plastic baggie, some random dried leaves, fresh impatiens and dandelions. Once she had everything in the bag, she proceeded to stomp the c**p out of it because she read that crushing the filling helped to release the aromas. She's quite sweet and soft spoken, so the stomping was pretty funny to witness.

It's nice that Mo is so helpful around the house, earning his keep I guess.

The kitty looks good, nice and healthy. And the beach is looking very inviting.

Birthday weekend for me. We Usually go to Palm Springs for a few days, but as we were just away and our wonderful neighbors took care of all of our four legged friends, we didn't want to impose again. I'm thinking a cookout at the beach in Laguna instead and if someone gives me some peonies, I'll be a happy girl!

Have a great weekend with your family and the new baby. So happy for you all.

KelAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
