December

December tippy-toed in on a burst of misty rain and soft sunshine...it's warm out! Let's go to the beach.

The upper third of the boardwalk and the highest bench are still here. Maybe they will stay all winter? I bet I'm not the only one who enjoys having them remain (if they are safe from storms?).

The dune grasses still have a touch of autumn color.

The beach is huge, a long walk for me these days.

Hard to believe but these photos were taken at 2 PM. Already looks like sunset...

Halfway through my walk, the wind picked up and the cold front rolled though, temperature dropped fast! Chilly!  But lovely. I was dressed in layers but the sudden high wind cut right through my fleece and windbreaker.

More dune grasses along the path home. The seeds will feed the tiny birds who pass through sometimes---snow buntings, pippits, seaside sparrows, mourning doves.

Nearer to home: the forsythia is confused, and blooming! Poor thing.

Later Mo practiced wearing his Santa's Elf hat. I showed him his baby who has a hat too.

He doesn't seem thrilled ~ "Bah humpug!"

The cottage is all dressed in its red and white for Christmas. I'll show you more next time.
