Pink Moon

''April's Full Moon is traditionally called the Full Pink Moon because of the seasonal appearance of the moss pink, or wild ground phlox—one of the first spring flowers!'' [Old Farmers' Almanac]
I for one have never seen wild phlox but I remember the pale pink ''spring beauties'' that carpeted the woods of my rural Ohio childhood.

Hi! I braved the gale wind today to go out to inspect the beach at full moon, low tide.

The boardwalk is out, and the bench has returned. I hope to find some moments to sit here and sew Dots, wind permitting.

The beach itself looks pretty good, if low.[eroded vertically].

I'm dying to know what this big black thing is. Far far away, a couple miles.

Rocks for the proposed jetty? Giant trash bags, a lost truck, a shipwreck? Even with my best binoculars I can't discern what this is. Soon I must find the time and energy to hike over there and see.

You can see the foam from the churning wind driven waves, and the sand blowing even on the wet areas.

The shadblow is blooming in the dunes.

Back home I made a hot cup of double bergamot Earl Grey tea, and sat with Mo for awhile on our sheltered deck, behind the white canvas windscreens.

The wind was really buffeting, I wonder if stormy weather is coming soon? Indoors, for a bit of brightness, I have a little jug filled with orange-y red ranunculas. Trader Joe's always has them briefly for a week or so in April.

My newest candle is called Sundress, with hints of bergamot and daylilies, so sweet. here

Earlier I put out all the down comforters to air in the sun and wind. Tonight the freshly made beds will smell of salt air, with hints of pink April full moon. Magic.

In Kansas, Mel's dandelion ''snow''. Adorable.
