Blue Moon to Welcome August

Hi guys! It's the last day of July. Soon the August Blue Moon will be high in the night sky on the eve of the first day of August 2015. I am so determined to make this a beautiful memorable summer.

So far, so good.
My health is cooperating, a big improvement from two summers ago spent in the hospital, or last year with my hand in the brace. I am planning my time better, avoiding extremely hot or sunny mid-days at the beach and enjoying late afternoons instead. I am getting more rest, I am trying to eat well and have succumbed to using some vitamin supplements to round out my intake. Just a few basic vitamins has made a big difference.

Do I have the energy I had before this last illness? Well, no. But I'm doing well and having fun. Mo brings a smile to my face every minute.

early mornings, on the deck

Target is showing Back to School ads on tv and the LL Bean early Fall catalog came the other day---shorts and cashmere hoodies, yum. Just my style. I think I'll get the navy polka dot hoodie, and maybe...um...red? hoodie. Too bad it's 90* out instead of 50. But that's okay. I am planning my fall velvet fruits and a woolie table mat, to work on when I am caught up on Pokeberry. The seasons pass, no matter how much I try to ''seize each day".

I love this photo, even though it's blurry.
Maybe because ii is blurry.
I think it would make a wonderful large painting!
I love the colors and shapes...

I'm off now to walk down the boardwalk in the dark, to see the tiny toads and night birds and to enjoy this high summer night.

blue moon?  where?

  1. Awww, I knew we'd get a post from you tonight :) Great pics of the sky, and ocean, and Mo. So relieved you're feeling better this summer than the last two. Sometimes you don't know how crappy you are actually feeling until you start to feel better. Happy you're better.

I hope to enjoy the summer before it's over, but gosh, it is FLYING by. I need to make a conscious effort. I already feel like I've missed the boat. Not to late to change my ways though!

Thanks for the wonderful post Liz, always a pleasure.

  2. Oh...as usual your pics are just beautiful! I need to get to the beach this year! We'll be needing those hoodies before we know it and we'll be into the fall cooking of soups, stews and sitting by the pellet stove! I love all the seasons!

  3. I've been doping the same as you, trying to enjoy and savor each day. Summer will be gone much too quickly. Glad to hear your health has improved.

  4. So happy you're continuing to feel better! I've started taking vitamin b12 and it's boosted my missing energy quite a bit. I think it's one of those vitamins that our bodies stop absorbing as well as we get older, so we need extra help if we want to keep going. Annoying but true!

I love the pictures as always, and how did I miss that we had a blue moon??

The hoodies are great. I love all the colors, the 'heathered' ones more than the polka-dot ones, though. I'd have a terrible time deciding on one color! And I'm not sure I can wear cashmere, no matter if it's only 5%, as wool makes me itch. Maybe.... I hope you get yours!

Thanks for sharing your beach walks with us!

  5. So glad you are feeling better this year. I wish I had all the answers on living a healthier life. So many things limit our ability to do that. However, those little fur babies sure help, by putting a smile on our faces don't they??

    Blessings,
    Gert
