Blue Skies White Lilacs

Hello! Come share our walk?
Today Mo and I found white lilacs in bloom. Oh my---swoon. It's an old tree, two stories high!

White dogwood too.

And someone has put gorgeous Van Gogh-esque iris here on this corner to help disguise the ugly pole.

And golden brown iris, which seems to flourish in our sandy soil.

Pink snow!

Pollen culprits.

Neighborhood gardens...

Fence peeping. We checked on the Blue Fish installation. Looking good.

And I love this woman's tiny garden. I snuck a few pictures. She has many wonderful garden ornaments. My fave is her Mr Sunshine.

Look at his amazing patina, which adds so much depth and form and expression to his face. It must have been here for many years.Next to Mr Sun is another sun face, but the face is a convex mirror, also very cool. [to right]

And this is the corner below. She has accented her dwarf Japanese maple with garden stakes that are glass orbs and rusty sparrows. The colors pick up the russet red of the leaves so beautifully. Each patch of her yard holds tiny gems and vignettes.

We peeked over the fence at the beach cabanas. The much coveted aqua and pink BEACH arrow signs [hilarious. Who needs a sign?] have been replaced with less cool orange-y tan sign. My friend and I have been hoping for years to find a fallen and therefore salvageable aqua arrow. Someone less wimpy got there first, I guess.

Mo and I ended our day with a late afternoon trip to the dog park.

I've figured out now that Mo is kind of indifferent to the park. [He hid under the bench by my feet]. What he loves is riding in the car!  He sits securely in his car seat looking like the Queen on parade.Window down, ears fluttering. Driving Mr Mo!

  1. Oh, my gosh. What beautiful flowers. I'm about to redo my tiny lanai. I put things in pots since we hit lava rock not too far down. (Did I ever mention we're at 8 ft elevation? We're supposed to end up with beachfront property in 100 years. LOL)

Love your posts and your beautiful pics. Thanks so much for sharing your walk.

    1. I think my elevation is 7 feet, at least according to my iPhone's gadget.

  2. Oh, so many beautiful things in bloom. Love the white lilacs, and of course lily of the valley. I got to see some when I was in MD last week. My sister has a peony that was on the verge of exploding too.

I'd like to see the Mr. Sun with the mirror close up if you ever have the opportunity :) What a wonderland that yard is. Oh, and your Blue Fish getting ready for summer!

Funny Mo. My sister's dog likes to go to the dog park, but he is afraid to go in, so they walk him around the OUTSIDE of the park, haha.

Thanks for sharing all of the colorful blooms today, it was a great collection.

    1. Maybe the garden lady will let me take pix? I think the sun face is a mercury glass disk--- pressed glass, in a sun face. With metal rays. She has another on her outside fence , I can only see the back of it. And in her big tree she has these metal silhouettes of dancers, like---Matisse? dancers?--- and they twirl in the breeze.

The lilies of the valley---such a delight.

Very funny about your sister s dog! I think Mo would love that, a tour around the parking lot and nearby dunes. He s a bit puzzled by the dogrun itself.Tho we met some nice little dogs and their walker this time. Unfortunately after tomorrow the fee to enter the park is at least 16.oo a day---plus a fee for a resident ID card, so we may only go after 7 PM. Not as nice.

    2. I'm going to search on-line to see if I can find what you're describing (the things hanging in the trees). I'm curious.

Wait...do you mean it will cost 16.00 to get into the DOG park? Or is that to get into the park where the dog park is? Either way, pretty hefty fee. Thanks again for sharing. Happy weekend.

    3. The dancers are I think called ''wind spinners''...copper sheets, look like from a craft show. I ll try to take a picture, I didn t find anything similar online.

The 16.oo is to get into the park where the dog park is. You also have to have an annual residents pass, I don t buy one but they re not cheap. I belive parking is free after 6 or 7 pm til sunset. Normally I d walk in from the beach for free but it s a bit too far for Mo to walk in the summer heat, a few miles?

  4. Spring is just bustin' out! Love all the flowers and the peeks at neighbors' yards. And the pink 'snow'!

I think nearly all dogs like to ride in the car, I wonder why? I bet Mo is cute as your ride-along buddy.

The crooked sea/sky picture got my attention! LOL, funny how just an angle really catches an eye.

I wonder why the beach signs' color changed? Maybe people were swiping the signs? I think the new color combo is kind of hard to read, maybe they'll change them back later.

Thanks for sharing, it's always nice to get glimpses of your walks.

    1. It s so cold tonight I wore my down jacket to walk Mo. bbbbrrrr.

The signs...they re just handmade, so probably the caretaker guy just used what he had. OR too many of the turquoise and pink ones were getting stolen. Or blew away? It's pretty funny because there s no place else the beach could possibly be. Maybe for the children?
