No Flea Market!?

Where's the flea market!? It usually begins on the last Sunday of March...so off I went despite the coldest grey ugly weather of the winter and nasty drizzling rain. Nope, not a booth or dealer in sight. Sooo..since I was right there, I stopped in the thrift shop.

The thrift shop has been a fun alternative this winter. Probably was just as good or better ''stuff''and takes much less effort to wander thru its well-lit warm aisles.
Recent treasures:
Wonderful early 1800s[c.1840?] English Staffordshire large dish! 4.oo  with the weekend markdown!

yes a chip, who cares!

White ironstone bowl..2.99.

Cute little crate for my seaglass bottles I sell on etsy...

Lovely hand-woven Swedish "Danish Modern" table cloth, brand new, vintage...in my colors!

Wonderful periwinkle blue [bad ohoto colors] India print placemats and napkins, for summer deck dinners...

Sweet Easter grass..a quarter! and a neat old heart box....

to paint white and cover with seashells?

A large sham of some sort. I will cut it in half long-ways and remake it into a table runner....

An ugly fabric, below, but I loved the birds! Very bleached or over-dyed indigo blue, it will be beautiful!

Various garments, all beautiful linen to repurpose as my lavender hearts:

I can't wait to get started on all these projects! My etsy shop will soon be filled with wonderful Cape Cod lavender hearts and seaglass...and shells...and...

  3. I love the colors in the Swedish tablecloth! All very nice finds. You know, most people just see old clothes and don't notice the nice fabric that can be used in other ways like your hearts! More for you!
Happy Spring! Personally I'm hoping for a LONG spring this year...

Hi! I'm allowing comments from everyone, even anonymous for awhile, to see what happens. With comments moderation. Hopefully the awful porn spammer has gone elsewhere. Or you can always email me! I love to hear from everyone.
