A Hazy Shade of Winter

Hi! These are the pix from my first snowy beach walk, after the Christmas blizzard. Blogger has been out of order all week, so I've been incommunicado!

Everything was palest pearl grey---and foggy...

The beach still had a lot of snow....

And the beautiful snowy dunes...with the spare, windswept grasses...

Reeds...coiled in the mist
Where the low fog drives:
They fight it out the water and the weed--
While the fog, above, takes turn and twist....

Wild geese across the moon:
As some hand that unrolls
And scratches black names upon scrolls;
So seem these shadows, dipping, dying,
Black shapes on the moon, screaming, flying,
Till the fog blots out, or late or soon:

- Muriel Stuart, Wild Geese Across the Moon [edited]

And here is my house from far, far out on the dunes...the early dark arrived before I was ready to go home.....

More snow coming! I made chili---planned a maybe-quilt...and bought more yarn for knitting.....
Stay safe and warm, my friends!

love

  2. What beautiful pictures... so glad you are staying in now with the snow coming along with the chili to eat and something to sew...

It's cold here with snow on it's way...

    Blessings...
