Waiting for Earl

Shhhh! We don't want to jinx ourselves but rumor has it,

waiting for Earl (or food?)

 Earl is losing his punch.

No ooomphf in poor Earl by the time he sideswipes The Beach tomorrow.

overwash at high tide earlier today
At least that is what we are hoping.

sea foam
Maybe not even any rain?

The stores were quiet and well-stocked this afternoon....

hurricane skies: wispy clouds covering the sun
No lines at the gas station....

No preparedness flyers from the local Safety Patrol (is that, like, the police? or what?)...

wind picking up, lots of seaspray
The town did not pull the lifeguard stands from the beach...

terns (behind the flood water) and skimmers awaiting Earl

The marinas were still full of hopeful white boats....

But I stocked up on food and ice. Put gas in my Jeep. You know...just in case?

"angel sky" sunset, harbinger of stormy weather

  2. I love your pics and wish I could just go to the beach like that and take pictures. I am definately jealous but wish you safety. Perhaps you will have some great finds when it has gone away.

Hi! I'm allowing comments from everyone, even anonymous for awhile, to see what happens. With comments moderation. Hopefully the awful porn spammer has gone elsewhere. Or you can always email me! I love to hear from everyone.
